I am one of the lab managers for the Echinacea Project in the Population Biology Lab at the Chicago Botanic Garden.  At the lab, I coordinate volunteers and train students in our high-throughput seed cleaning and counting system, and I also help manage the Echinacea Project's long-term datasets.  Over the summer, I collect data from prairie remnants at our field site in western Minnesota to investigate the impacts of habitat fragmentation and prescribed fire on native prairie plant and insect populations and better understand how to conserve this threatened yet highly diverse ecosystem.
