GLENCOE, IL (Sept. 1, 2015) - Welcome the fall season with a cold glass of beer! Oktoberfest celebrations occur throughout Europe; the Chicago Botanic Garden will celebrate locally on Thursday, October 8, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Guests check in at the McGinley Pavilion and receive a wristband, tasting glass and tasting sheet. Breweries pour a few different seasonally selected beers in 2-ounce tastings. Light fare and featured beer by the bottle are available for purchase.

Participating breweries include: Begyle Brewing, Temperance Brewery, Smylie Brothers, Flossmoor Station, Dark Horse Brewing, Hailstorm Brewing, Lagunitas, Peckish Pig Brewing Company, Rogue Brewery and Revolution Brewing.

Garden Plus members have the opportunity to attend a pre-event tasting of the Garden’s first beer, Change of Saisons, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Buehler Enabling Garden, at no extra charge. The collaborators behind the special brew—Begyle Brewing and Chef Cleetus Friedman of Fountainhead/The Bar on Buena—will be on hand to share tasting notes.

Guests must be 21 or older to attend the event, and a valid ID card must be shown. Advance tickets to Autumn Brews (purchased on or before October 7) are $25 for members, $30 for nonmembers. Day-of tickets are $28 for members and $33 for nonmembers.

Tickets are nonrefundable. Due to the popularity of this event, tickets should be purchased in advance. A confirmation will arrive via e-mail once your order is received. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited. Advance tickets may also be purchased at the Garden's Information Desk in the Visitor Center. Event will occur rain or shine. Call (847) 835-5440 for more information. Purchase tickets here. See website for parking fees
