Ben Wasmuth (b. 1988) began his carillon studies in high school, under Phyllis Webb at Grosse Pointe Memorial Church in Michigan. Ben continued his carillon studies under Dr. Laura Ellis at the University of Florida, where he received both his B.S. and Master’s degrees in accounting. Ben also completed a period of study at the Netherlands Carillon School under Frans Haagen and Henk Verhoef, and attended the 2008 Carillon Summer School at Roosevelt University in Middelburg, also in the Netherlands.

After a hiatus, Ben Wasmuth returned to carillon performance in 2021. Outside of the carillon tower, Ben practices tax consulting at the public accounting firm RSM US LLP, and is a member of the Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Lyric Young Professionals Board.
