Overview: 
To implement and assist with a variety of events and shows within the Visitor Events & Programs department at the Chicago Botanic Garden.
Duties and Responsibilities: 

In this role you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Work assigned weekday evenings and weekends for Summer Evenings and Flower Shows. These events include set-up/strike of signage, load-in/out of bands or vendors, and to serve as the on-site coordinator for the respective program.
  • Coordinate volunteers during programs if applicable.
  • Assist with other select weekend summer events as needed.
  • Prepare materials for upcoming events including set-up memos, signage, and programs.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Enjoys working with people in an active, energetic atmosphere.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Position requires periods of walking, standing and lifting light weight (primarily signs/sign holders—no more than approximately 15 pounds).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Be a positive Chicago Botanic Garden representative and solve problems as necessary.
