Overview: 
The Plant Evaluation Internship provides an opportunity to observe a diversity of plants in full-sun and green roof gardens. Their performance is documented through data collection and digital photography. The Chicago Botanic Garden has one of the largest and most diverse plant evaluation programs in the U.S.
Duties and Responsibilities: 

In this role you will be responsible for the following:

  • Collecting evaluation data in the trial gardens.
  • Photographic documentation of all plants in the evaluation trials.
  • Cataloging and managing digital images.
  • Assisting with planting new trials.
  • Assisting with other evaluation projects as necessary.
Qualifications: 

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Student or graduate of a horticultural or related plant science program.
  • Knowledge of herbaceous and woody plants beneficial.
  • Digital photography experience.
  • Computer experience (MS Office).
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.
Physical Demands: 
Outdoor work includes standing for long periods, walking, and bending. Indoor work includes data entry and other computer operations.
