Camp CBG Instructor A-B

Instruct half- or full-day camp programs for Camp CBG children ages 2 – 12 on a part-time basis. Programs are hands-on, inquiry-based, outdoor science experiences. Camp CBG is a specialized program of the Education Department that focuses on the development, delivery, and evaluation of outdoor science, nature, art, and foods-based educational programs.
Duties and Responsibilities: 

In this role you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Prepare syllabi and lesson plans in cooperation with the manager of Camp Programs.
  • Instruct groups of 12 to 20 children. Supervise campers at pick-up and drop-off site.
  • Attend pre-camp trainings and Parent Orientation.
  • Request or purchase supplies in accordance with the established procedures.

 Our ideal candidate will have the following: 

  • Must be available for a minimum of two weeks between June 17 and Augsut 16, as well asd necessary pre-camp meeting dates.
  • Extensive teaching experience required. Preference is given to those with experience and/or interest teaching science, environmental/outdoor education, and art with early childhood or middle school experience.
  • B.A. or B.S. in education or related field required.
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors, standing for long periods of time, and able to lift 25 pounds.

Must be able to work outdoors, stand for long periods of time, and lift 25 lbs.
