Guided Field Trip Reservation Form

Preregistered guided field trip visits to the Chicago Botanic Garden must be booked a minimum of four weeks in advance, with payment due three weeks prior to your field trip. The field trip visit reservation is finalized once full payment is received and processed, and confirmation letters are generated.

Registration requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note there are seasonal variations in response time. Your patience is appreciated!

Requested Dates and Times
Field Trips are scheduled Monday – Friday

Please provide three dates when your class/group is available for a field trip.


Please complete one set of "group" information below for each "group" of students.

  • Maximum of 30 students (K–12) or 25 students (preK) per group
    Please provide accurate attendance numbers so we can properly prepare course materials for your class.
  • Adult to student ratio is 1:5 (preK–2), 1:7 (3–5), and 1:10 (6–12)
  • 60-minute programs will be scheduled at either 10 or 11:30 a.m.
    90-minute programs will be scheduled for 10 to 11:30 a.m.
  • Due to construction on our new Regenstein Learning Campus, space is currently limited and we may only be able to take up to four groups from a single school/organization per day.

Guided Programs
All guided programs are 60 minutes long, unless otherwise noted. Programs run from 10 to 11 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The 90-minute programs run from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Tram Tours
Tours are 30 minutes for Grades K-6 and 35 minutes for Grades 7-12. Fee: $3.00 per person
Special Exhibitions
On-site entry fees: Groups pay on site for Model Railroad Garden and Butterflies & Blooms at the special group rate with a copy of the field trip confirmation letter.

Model Railroad Garden Exhibition
May 7 – October 30, 2016. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fee: $3 per person with field trip confirmation letter.

Butterflies & Blooms
May 28 – September 5, 2016. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fee: $3 per person with field trip confirmation letter.

Preregistration Required for Wonderland Express Exhibition
Preregistration is required for groups wishing to visit the Wonderland Express Exhibition. November 25, 2016 – January 1, 2017. Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fee $3 per person.

The school field trip programs registrar will contact you with reservation details. Payment options consist of credit card or check.
