Chat with a Garden scientist over cocktails about research on prairies as part of the Garden-wide program: Picturing the Prairie.
Each evening includes a talk with a scientist, individual charcuterie & crudite boxes, beer, wine, and a specialty themed cocktail (see below) and soda. Hear about fire use in prairie restoration, tallgrass prairie seeds, and bees and pollinators in the prairie, all in the magical summer setting of the Native Plant Garden. Ticket price includes parking. Must be 21 or older to attend event; valid ID card must be shown.
July 22: Jim Jabcon - Prairie restoration, using fire as a tool. Cocktail “Controlled Burn”.
August 5: Marcello De Vitis - Prairie seeds. Cocktail “Black Eyed Susan”.
August 19: Stuart Wagenius The birds, the bees, and the plants. Cocktail “Bee’s Knees”.
