Gabriella serves to provide a means of memory and categorization of the Garden’s vast living collection. Her primary duties include providing labels for our annual and permanent plants as well as generating accession tags for woody plants and trees. Gabriella, along with a team of volunteers, also works to repair and replace weathered labels throughout the garden, ensuring the botanical poetry found on the display labels contributes to the beauty of the curated landscape. Labels are one of the many portals at the Garden that provide staff, visitors, and collaborators a means to connect with the botanical realm.

Native to the Chicagoland area, Gabriella cherishes the modest magic of the Midwest bioregion. She received her B.A. in Environmental Science from Loyola University Chicago. Her interest lies in exploring what we must learn about being human from the natural world.
