Chris Baker, the Chicago Botanic Garden’s curator of bonsai and Jack Sustic, retired bonsai curator at the United States National Arboretum, demonstrate bonsai tree styling in Nichols Hall. Garden bonsai volunteers present ongoing demonstrations of bonsai repotting, pruning, wiring, and design from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. At 1:30 p.m., Chris Baker leads a tour of the Bonsai Collection. Spring-blooming highlights in the collection may include wisteria, crabapple, and azalea.

World Bonsai Day was created in 2010 to promote bonsai and friendship throughout the world.
