Plant Association: 

The larvae feed on Dalechampia triphylla and Adelia triloba.  Adults usually feed on rotting fruit and animal dung.

Interesting Fact: 

The whitened bluewing doesn’t fly very often. Other butterflies that feed on rotting fruit and animal dung are also found to fly infrequently. Instead of flying, these butterflies spend most of their time resting on tree trunks.
