This bird book is very comprehensive, practical and easy to follow. It is well developed for both beginners and experienced birders, in creating positive environments for birds with food, water and cover. Bird feeders and bird feed are well documented, with a discussion of some resulting problems. The author stresses the need for water, nesting boxes and starting an all-season garden for bird feed.
This is not a bird guide, with illustrations of each potential bird that might appear in a backyard; there are other good sources for that kind of information. This book is a very special and effective guide on constructing a backyard bird habitat, worthwhile for beginners, more experienced birders and teachers.
