On the first page of this book, the authors present “simple ideas and techniques to transform your outdoor space, with 280 practical photographs.” The book certainly lives up to this claim. Clifton, a trained horticulturist and landscape designer, and Hendy, author and lecturer, have put together a step-by-step instruction book on how to change your outdoor space. They begin with the basics of assessing and upgrading your space, then deciding on the design, and planning the details. Extensive photographs show finished products in six case studies. The final section includes information on plant choices, broken down by types with pictures. Even if you are not planning to redo your backyard, there is plenty of useful information in this book.
