Rare Plants and Orchids in Watercolor

Botanical Arts Certificate

3 Wednesdays:
February 28 – March 13
9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

New! Transport yourself to the wet rainforests or hot desert sands as you draw and paint unique plants and flowers from around the world. You will learn how to capture the exciting shapes and textures of ferns, cacti, succulents, orchids, and other fascinating plants using pen/ink and watercolor washes. The shapes and forms can be whimsical and otherworldly. Shades of green, blue, gray, and silver will be explored as you draw inspiration from the Arid Greenhouse, and then move to a plethora of colors found in the Semitropical and Tropical Greenhouses installed for the Orchid Show. The class will progress each week from dryer textural drawings to full-blown, wet colors in paint. A supply list will be sent. The School’s CEUs=10.5 hours
