TITLE: Visitor Events and Programs Aide – Summer Evenings – FILLED


PURPOSE: To implement and assist with a variety of visitor events and programs at the Chicago Botanic Garden.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: 1. Set up, implement, and clean up weekday evening visitor events. Includes setting up and taking down signage, loading in and assisting the musical talent, and serving as the on-site coordinator for the Carillon Concert program on Monday evenings, Music on the Esplanade program on Tuesdays, the Hot Summer Nights program on Thursdays (June – August) and possible select Wednesdays for Children’s Music Nights.

2. Coordinate volunteers during evening visitor programs (as listed above).

3. Assist staff with select weekend summer events as needed.

REPORTS TO: Director, Visitor Events & Programs
SUPERVISES: N/A

COOPERATIVE RELATIONSHIPS: Visitor Programs, Visitor Operations, Custodial Services, Security

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Enjoys working with people in an active, energetic atmosphere. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Position requires periods of walking, standing and lifting light weight (primarily signs/sign holders—no more than approximately 15 pounds). Ability to work independently, be a positive Chicago Botanic Garden representative and solve problems as necessary.
