TITLE: Science First Program Assistant (Lake County) – FILLED

PURPOSE: To aid in the delivery of a hands-on summer science program for students in grades 6-8.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Assist all staff of the Science First program based at Greenbelt Cultural Center with classroom, laboratory, and field setup.

2. Coordinate and facilitate supplies, lunch delivery, etc. for program

DEPARTMENT: Center for Teaching and Learning

REPORTS TO: Seasonal Manager for Science First, Lake County, and Coordinator of Secondary Education Programs

SUPERVISES: Students in the Science First program

COOPERATIVE RELATIONSHIPS: Lake County Forest Preserve District

PAY RANGE: $7.75 per hour

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Be available to work for 40 hours/week starting June 23 to
July 18, 2008. The ideal candidate will have some experience with middle or high school aged children (tutoring, mentoring, volunteer) and knowledge of programs run by the Lake County Forest Preserve District.
