TITLE: Program Assistant, Science First Lake County

PURPOSE: To aid in the delivery of a hands-on summer science program for students going into grades 7-9, which will be held at the College of Lake County Campus, Grayslake, IL.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
Assist all staff of the Science First program with classroom, laboratory, and field setup.

Coordinate and facilitate supplies, lunch delivery, etc., for the program

DEPARTMENT: Center for Teaching and Learning

REPORTS TO: Seasonal manager for Science First Lake County, and coordinator of secondary education programs at the Chicago Botanic Garden

SUPERVISES: Students in the Science First program

COOPERATIVE RELATIONSHIPS: Lake County Forest Preserve District

PAY: $8.25 per hour

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Be available to work for 40 hours/week from June 21 to
July 16, 2010. The ideal candidate will have some experience with middle- or high-school aged children (tutoring, mentoring, volunteer) and knowledge of programs run by the Lake County Forest Preserve District.
