TITLE: Groundskeeper (Seasonal/temporary)

PURPOSE: To perform general grounds maintenance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

1. Perform the following tasks consisting primarily of manual labor under the direction of full-time grounds crew staff: planting, transplanting, and pruning trees and shrubs, watering, picking up compost, mulching, mowing, maintaining tools and equipment, chipping brush, weeding, removing refuse, fertilizing, deadheading, and edging.

2. Safely operate small equipment such as mowers, rototillers, and weed-eaters.

3. Report any tool or equipment problems to supervisor, Grounds.

4. Assist indoors with projects such as equipment maintenance, shop organization, and greenhouse work when weather prohibits outdoor work.

REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Grounds

SUPERVISES: N/A

COOPERATIVE RELATIONSHIPS: Horticulture

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: General knowledge of small tools and equipment; some landscape maintenance experience. Must be able to lift and carry 25 lbs.
