TITLE: Operations Assistant, Camp CBG — FILLED


PURPOSE: To assist the Camp Coordinator in all aspects of management of Camp CBG, with a focus on day-to-day logistics. The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is a specialized area of the Education Department that focuses on the development, delivery, and evaluation of educational programs for school students, teachers and youth pre-K through grade 12.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist in managing the daily pick-up and drop-off site, including signing campers in and out, interacting with parents, and supervising children.

2. Direct volunteers to their assignments.

3. Purchase and prepare equipment and supplies for instructors as needed.

4. Manage distribution of daily snack to instructors.

5. Supervise campers during lunch period.

6. Assist with administrative aspects of program as needed.

7. Assist at occasional weekend and evening special events.

8. Other duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO: Camp Coordinator

SUPERVISE: Volunteers, campers

COOPERATIVE RELATIONSHIPS: Primarily other CTL staff, Camp CBG teachers, campers, and parents


POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Position is full-time, seasonal, June 8 through August 21, 2009. B.A./S in a related field is preferred. Two or more years of experience with children or administration of educational programming is preferred. Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills are required. Flexibility, efficiency, and punctuality are a must. Must be able to work outdoors, stand for long periods of time, and lift 25 lbs. Must enjoy interacting with people of all ages. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license.
