TITLE: Camp Operations Assistant, Center for Teaching and Learning FILLED

 

PURPOSE: To assist the Camp Coordinator in all aspects of management of Camp CBG, with a focus on day-to-day logistics. The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is a specialized area of the Education Department that focuses on the development, delivery, and evaluation of educational programs for school students, teachers and youth ages 2 to 15.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist with daily pick-up and drop-off site, including signing campers in and out, interacting with parents, and supervising children.
  2. Direct volunteers to their assignments.
  3. Prepare equipment and supplies for instructors daily.
  4. Supervise campers during lunch period.
  5. Assist with administrative aspects of program as needed.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

REPORTS TO: Camp Coordinator

SUPERVISE: Volunteers, campers

COOPERATIVE RELATIONSHIPS: Primarily other CTL staff, Camp CBG teachers, campers and parents

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Position is full-time, seasonal, and extends from June 6 through August 19, 2011. Summer camp experience and/or 2+ years of working with children in an educational setting is preferred. Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills are required. Flexibility, efficiency, and punctuality are a must. Must be able to work outdoors, stand for long periods of time, and lift 25 lbs. Must enjoy interacting with people of all ages. Candidates must have a valid driver's license.
