TITLE: Instructor, Camp CBG – FILLED
PURPOSE: To instruct 2 ½ hour, five-day programs for children ages 2 to 12 for the Camp CBG summer day camp program. Programs are hands-on, inquiry-based, outdoor science experiences.
PROGRAM DATES: Eight one-week sessions, June 15 – August 14. No camps the week of June 29.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Instruct groups of 12 to 15 children. Supervise campers at pick-up and drop-off site. Morning instructors work from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.. Afternoon instructors work from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
2. Prepare syllabi and lesson plans in cooperation with the coordinator of Youth Programs.
3. Purchase supplies in accordance with the established procedures.
4. Attend mandatory trainings and precamp Parent Orientation.

REPORTS TO: Camp Coordinator
SUPERVISE: Campers, volunteers
COOPERATIVE RELATIONSHIPS: Primarily other CTL staff, Camp CBG staff, campers, and parents
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Must be available for a minimum of two weeks of summer. Weeks do not need to be consecutive. Extensive teaching experience required, preference given to those with experience and/or interest teaching science and environmental/outdoor education and/or early childhood experience. B.A. or B.S. in education or related field required. Must be comfortable working outdoors, standing for long periods of time, and able to lift 25 lbs.
