Scout Programs

The prairie, woods and other gardens offer environments and activities for advancement and challenge.

Workshops range from terrarium making to prairie walks to special holiday programs.

Workshops are available on scheduled dates. Some activities are subject to change due to weather conditions. All workshops may qualify participants for official awards programs; please inquire for specific details. Participants will receive a Chicago Botanic Garden activity patch.

Preregistration is required for all workshops. Call (847) 835-8361 with questions or to register. Groups may be combined to meet capacity. A minimum of 10 children is required to register for a workshop. Workshops are limited to 25 children. A minimum of one actively involved chaperone for every five children is required. There is no fee for adult chaperones for workshops or special events.

Workshop Costs

The workshop registration charge includes the parking fee for all participants. Fees must be paid
in full two weeks before the program date and are non-refundable, unless the program is cancelled
by the Chicago Botanic Garden.

Girls in Science ages 5-6 and 6-8, and Boy Scouts Tiger, Wolf and Bear Cubs
(1½ hours):$10 per child 

Girls in Science ages 8-11 and Boy Scouts Webelos
(2 hours):$15 per child 

Special Events: Bulb Days, Winter Wonders
$15 per child 

Children's Garden Campouts
$35 per child, $10 per adult
minimum 40 children
