Speaker Biography: Anne Raver

Anne Raver

Anne Raver has been writing about the garden, land preservation and the environment for 25 years, including 18 years at the New York Times. She is a former Loeb Fellow of Harvard University, a recipient of the National Headliner Award, the Bradford Williams Medal and the American Horticultural Society’s Writing Award. She is the author of Deep in the Green (Knopf, 1995; Vintage; 1997) and is writing a memoir about returning to the old family farm in Maryland to help out her 92-year-old mother, and to replace genetically modified field crops with native grasses and hayfields. She has witnessed the return of the bluebird, the pileated woodpecker and bobolink to the forest and meadow.
