Preregistration is necessary for all classes and programs. Payment is due at the time of registration with a check or credit card. Purchase orders are not accepted. Participants are encouraged to register early, as programs with insufficient registration will be canceled three to five business days before the scheduled start date.
The Joseph Regenstein, Jr., School of the Chicago Botanic Garden retains full discretion to accept or reject any registration.
Symposia participants are encouraged to register early and take advantage of early-bird registration fees. If applicable, early-bird deadlines are specified for each symposium. Postmarks will be used to verify mail-in registrations.
Inclement Weather?
In the case of hazardous weather conditions, call 847-835-8261 no more than two hours before the scheduled course for information on possible postponement, rescheduling or cancellation. It is the student's responsibility to call to learn if a program is postponed or canceled due to weather. The Chicago Botanic Garden does not call students. All symposia will run but may have a later start and ending time.
Anti-Discrimination policy
The Joseph Regenstein, Jr. School of the Chicago Botanic Garden does not discriminate or permit discrimination by any member of its community against any individual on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, or disability in matters of admissions or in the educational programs or activities it operates.
Cancellation Policy
Courses canceled by the Garden due to low enrollment or hazardous weather conditions are refunded automatically.
Refund Policy
Refund requests must be submitted to the registrar IN WRITING and postmarked or faxed prior to the program's start date. The registration fee will be refunded less a 20 percent processing charge (minimum $5). A refund is issued in the form of a credit on file (to be used for future programs), a check or a credit to the credit card used to register. A credit on file is valid for one year from the date issued.
Fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable on and after the program's start date. The Chicago Botanic Garden cannot refund fees requested on or after the start date of a program or for sessions missed due to student illness or other personal situations.
Registration fees for courses grouped and priced as a series will be considered one program and subject to all of the above guidelines. A refund request must be received prior to the start date of the series' first class session and will subsequently cancel your registration in every session of the series. If you choose to re-register for other sessions in the series, the special discount does not apply. Dismissal policy
The Joseph Regenstein, Jr., School of the Chicago Botanic Garden is committed to offering the highest quality educational experience to all of its students. To ensure that educational experience, the School reserves the right to dismiss any participant.
Discounted Fees and Special Needs Registration
Chicago Botanic Garden members pay the lower member fee listed for all classes. Gurnee residents may pay the lower fee listed for courses at Gurnee. Chicago residents may pay the lower fee listed for courses at Lincoln Park. Become a member and receive a 20% discount on most classes and much more. Your membership fee may be included with your registration. Please send a separate check.

Confirmation Notices
Confirmation postcards are sent to each paid registrant when his/her registration is processed. Please bring the postcard to each class, and retain it as your receipt. If you register less than one week prior to the course's start date, you may not receive a confirmation notice.
If book lists, supply lists or directions are mentioned in the course description, they will be sent under separate cover. Please note: Symposia registrants will receive a detailed confirmation no less than two weeks prior to the event.
