Addressing a growing need for expertise in plant science and conservation, the doctoral program provides students with advanced training in plant ecology, evolution, and biology, as well as applied plant conservation theory and methods.

The Garden's Daniel F. and Ada L. Rice Plant Conservation Science Center serves as home to the doctoral program, as well as the master's degree program in plant biology and conservation. The Plant Science Center is an international center of plant conservation research, providing a world-class facility designed specifically to meet the needs of students and teachers in the plant biology and conservation curriculum.
