Regulatory Programs Relating to Shoreline Restoration Projects
In northeastern Illinois, a joint application process to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources has been established to expedite preparation and review of permit applications. The application instructions and the application form are available for download from the web.
Also, consult with the Chicago, Illinois field office of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service regarding your project's potential impacts to rare and endangered species. Your county Soil and Water Conservation District should be consulted regarding soil erosion control plans associated with your project, and your county stormwater management organization (including Cook County, DuPage County, Kane County, Lake County, McHenry County, and Will County) may also provide useful information.
