Tenth Annual Summer Dinner Dance

GLENCOE, Ill. (April 11, 2013) – The Chicago Botanic Garden presents the Tenth Annual Summer Dinner Dance on Friday, June 21, with the theme “The Language of Flowers.” The black-tie soiree begins at 6:30 p.m. with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres served in the English Walled Garden, followed by an intimate dinner dance in an elegant pavilion in the Rose Garden. One of the most talked-about events on the North Shore and in the Chicago area, the Summer Dinner Dance celebrates the start of the summer season. Proceeds from the 2013 Summer Dinner Dance will help support children’s programs and plans for the new Learning Campus display garden.
HM Designs will create the beautiful setting inside the tent. Passed hors d'oeuvres and dinner will be catered by Calihan Catering. City Lights Orchestra will play while guests dance the night away.
The Committee for the Summer Dinner Dance is co-chaired by Maria and Bill Smithburg, Colette and Tom Smithburg, and Cate and Rick Waddell. The Summer Dinner Dance is generously underwritten by Northern Trust. Additional support is provided by Beam Inc. and Bonterra Organic Vineyards.
Tickets begin at $750; tables at $7,500. The Garden closes at 3 p.m. on this day. Last year’s event attracted more than 350 glamorous partygoers and raised $500,000. For more information and to order tickets, call (847) 835-6944.
