GLENCOE, Ill. (February 11, 2014) – Chicago Botanic Garden members can obtain reduced admission to the Chicago Flower & Garden Show taking place Saturday, March 15 through Sunday, March 23 at Navy Pier. A $4 discount will be given to visitors showing their Garden membership cards when purchasing tickets at the box office. The offer may not be combined with other discount offers and is not valid for online ticket orders.
Tickets purchased at the box office are $17 on weekdays and $19 on weekends. Advance online tickets are $15 on weekdays and $17 on weekends.
Chicago Botanic Garden horticulturists and Master Gardener volunteers will give daily demonstrations in the How-To Garden area – free with admission - on both the “Gardening Live” stage and in the “Hands-On Gardening” demonstration area. Gardening Live topics include a moss-lined basket for spring, a spring container for a shady location, window box herbs, terrariums, and spring wreaths. Hands-On Gardening demonstrations will cover such subjects as pruning evergreens, mulching techniques, rose selection and maintenance, and tool care. Master Gardener volunteers from the Garden’s Plant Information Service also be available each day to answer visitors’ gardening questions. The theme of this year’s Chicago Flower & Garden show is “Do Green. Do Good.” Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
