Wisconsin-Illinois Lily Society Lily Lecture
February 21, 2 p.m.

The Wisconsin-Illlinois Lily Society presents a lecture, "Old Masters and New Gardens: The Enduring Principles of Design," on Sunday, February 21, at 2 p.m. Presented by Donna Diamond, a senior staff member at Lurvey's Garden Center, the slide show and lecture will illustrate the key elements of design used by professional landscape designers to make the most of an area's space, light, and terrain when designing an elegant garden.

Northern Illinois Gesneriad Society Show & Sale
March 13 & 14, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Gesneriads including African violets, lipstick plants, and more will be on display and for sale. These plants make excellent house plants and enliven any indoor space. Experts will be on hand to answer questions.

The Wisconsin-Illlinois Lily Society presents a lecture, "Put Glam in Your Garden with Lilies," on Sunday, March 14, at 2 p.m. Winnetka resident Woodruff Imberman, president of the Wisconsin Illinois Lily Society, will teach simple propagation techniques for growing lilies, and describe the wide variety of lilies that flourish in the Chicago area. Attendees will learn how to design a garden with lilies so that some are in bloom all summer long. Mr. Imberman is the author of numerous articles in regional and national horticultural magazines on lilies, is an amateur lily hybridizer, and has won many awards for his lilies.
