Florist Cyclamen
(Cyclamen persicum)
Often referred to as “poor man’s orchids,” cyclamen are usually available in garden centers during winter. “They are wonderful indoor blooming houseplants with bright red, pink, white, or purple flowers on long stems,” said outdoor floriculturist Tim Pollak. Flowers appear to float above the heart-shaped leaves, which are often marbled with silver. “They prefer cooler temperatures, and a bright indirect location indoors.”
