TITLE: Grant Accountant – Part-Time

Requisition Number 120

PURPOSE: To perform general accounting and administrative functions related to grants and contracts and restricted gifts. Support principal investigators and development department regarding grants and contracts compliance and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have flexibility to work 25 hours weekly. 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare financial reports for funded grants, including meeting monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reporting requirements.  
       
  • Track and monitor financial component of funded grants, including reporting and communicating to principal investigators and program staff.

  • Assist with preparation and coordination of A-133 audit.

  • Work closely with development department and principal investigators to ensure that all financial reporting deadlines are met and handled in a timely fashion.

  • Prepare and record journal entries.

  • Reconcile general ledger accounts.

  • Other duties as assigned by senior accountant.

DEPARTMENT: Accounting

REPORTS TO: Senior accountant

COOPERATIVE RELATIONSHIPS: Development department, principal investigators, auditors

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will be articulate, energetic, and self-motivated, possess exceptional analytical skills, have excellent organizational skills, be detailed oriented, and have a strong work ethic. Must be able to manage multiple priorities at any time. Strong Excel skills required; proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook) strongly preferred.  Ability to work 25 hours weekly.  Associate's degree required or two years of equivalent work experience. College degree and exposure to grants accounting and federal compliance procedures preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience.
