Research Experience for Undergraduates
Conservation and Land Management (CLM) Internship
TITLE: Spring Student Field Trip Programs Internship (PreK - 12 Grade), Joseph Regenstein, Jr. School of the Chicago Botanic Garden (unpaid)
PURPOSE: To facilitate hands-on science field trips for grades K through 12. The intern will gain experience and knowledge of Chicago Botanic Garden education programs with a special emphasis on plant-based learning for informal youth programs. The Student Field Trips area focuses on the development, delivery, and evaluation of educational programs for students, preK through grade 12.

REPORTS TO: Student Field Trip Coordinator SUPERVISES: N/A
COOPERATIVE RELATIONSHIPS: Other Joseph Regenstein, Jr. School of the Chicago Botanic Garden program areas, Visitor Programs, Horticulture, Custodial Services
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be available to work at least one day a week from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday, April through June. Must be comfortable teaching and being outdoors. Experience working with students grades K through 12 is required. Should have plant or environmental science knowledge and understand its application in informal education/museum settings. Should have knowledge about/familiarity with inquiry-based teaching methods. Must be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must work well with a diverse group people. Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
