Richard Bartecki brings to the Chicago Botanic Garden 25 years of advertising, marketing and public relations experience with Fortune 500 companies, non-profits and numerous smaller companies in a wide variety of industries and pursuits. As vice president of communications, he leads all the Garden's marketing and communications efforts, including advertising, public relations, design services and online marketing. Since joining the Garden in 2004, Mr. Bartecki has overseen an integrated marketing campaign resulting in significant new brand positioning for the Garden, a new consumer advertising campaign, and a redesigned website, newsletters and marketing materials.

Prior to joining the Garden, Mr. Bartecki served at Ogilvy PR Worldwide in Chicago as senior vice president and group director, where he led teams involved supporting corporate, consumer and entertainment accounts that included BP, Castrol, Snap-on Tools, Johnsonville Sausage, The International Race of Champions, Dow Chemical, DuPont, Navistar International, True Value Hardware, Friends of the Chicago River, Stylus Pens and Pencils, and many others.

Mr. Bartecki's career has also included service with Duchossois Industries, Inc., the Illinois Department of Conservation, the Iowa Arboretum and Geo. J. Ball, Inc. He has received more than 20 national and international marketing, public relations and advertising awards.
