Youth Programs

Campouts

Registration
Preregistration is required for all campouts. Scout Campout Fees: $45 for each child, $15 for each adult. Family Campout Fees: $50 for each child, $20 for each adult (Garden Plus Membership discounts are only applicable to the Family Campout). Cost includes parking, s'mores and breakfast (bagels, cream cheese, orange juice, and coffee). We require one actively involved adult chaperone per five children for Scout Campouts and one actively involved adult chaperone per three children for Family Campouts.

Please contact the Youth Programs Coordinator at (847) 835-8239 to check availability and register. If you are paying your deposit by check, please mail the check to the Coordinator of Youth Programs at the Chicago Botanic Garden, Children's Learning Center, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, IL 60022.

Scout Campouts
A $200 nonrefundable deposit is required at the time of registration. The deposit can be made by check or credit card. Final payment is due when the final head count is due, two weeks before the campout. There are NO refunds for no-shows and no additional children are allowed to be added within the two weeks before the campout. All campers are expected to spend the entire night at the Garden. Please note the rain date for your campout. Campout fees will only be refunded if both the original date AND the rain date are cancelled by the Youth Coordinator. Two weeks' notice of cancellation is required to receive a full refund less the $200 deposit. In the case of low-enrollment cancellation, a full refund will be issued.

Family Campouts
Full payment is required at the time of registration. This payment can be made by check or credit card. There are NO refunds for no-shows and no additional children are allowed to be added within the two weeks before the campout. All campers are expected to spend the entire night at the Garden. Please note the rain date for your campout. Campout fees will only be refunded if both the original date AND the rain date are cancelled by the Youth Coordinator. Two weeks' notice of cancellation is required to receive a full refund less a $20 processing fee. In the case of low-enrollment cancellation, a full refund will be issued.

Scout Badge Programs

Registration
Preregistration is required two weeks in advance for all badge programs. Cost includes parking. We require one actively involved adult chaperone per five children. There is no charge for adults. A deposit of $120 is due at the time of registration for 90-minute programs and a deposit of $170 is due at the time of registration for two-hour programs. The remaining balance is due the day of the program. Your date will be confirmed when the deposit is received.

Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your registration up to two weeks before the program for a $20 administrative handling fee, or you may reschedule your program to another day at no additional cost. We are unable to refund any cancellations made with less than two weeks’ notice. Programs cancelled by the Garden due to weather or closure that cannot be rescheduled will automatically be fully refunded. You’ll be notified of a cancellation 24 hours prior to the date of the program. To cancel or reschedule, please call (847) 835-8239.

Scout Seasonal Workshops

Registration
Preregistration is required for all workshops. Cost includes parking. We require one actively involved adult chaperone per five children. There is no charge for adults.

Cancellation Policy
You may cancel a registration up to one week before the workshop for a $5 administrative handling fee per child, or you may transfer to another workshop at no additional cost. Workshops cancelled by the Garden due to low enrollment, weather, or closure that cannot be rescheduled will automatically be fully refunded. Family Programs

Little Diggers

Registration

We are unable to give refunds for cancellations with less than one week’s notice. Programs cancelled by the Garden due to low enrollment will automatically be fully refunded or you may opt to transfer to another day or time. To cancel or transfer, please call (847) 835-6801.

age limits
Programs are accessible at multiple levels for children ages 2 through 4.
To make Little Diggers enjoyable and fair to all, please do not bring unregistered children, including siblings, to programs. For all programs, age requirements will be as of the date of the first class. All age requirements are set to benefit the children and make instruction more consistent. Nursing mothers may call (847) 835-6826 to make arrangements. Thank you.

Enrollment Limits
Each series has space for a maximum of 10 children accompanied by one adult each. Please call (847) 835-6826 if you have multiple children within the age range. Series will be cancelled unless the minimum enrollment of five children is met (see Cancellation Policy for more information).

Nature Nights
