Option 7 — Green Business

 

 

Making Green by GOing Green

Research accepted standards for a "green" business and use these standards to investigate a business in your community. Make recommendations for improvements that are environmentally as well as economically sustainable.

Guidelines:

  • A how-to guide is available upon request from: fairchildchallengecbg@gmail.com.
  • Students and teachers are encouraged to work directly with a business owner/manager on this project.

All submissions must include:

  • A cover page listing the names of all the students that worked on this category, the name of the school and the name and/or type of business investigated.
  • A typed report or PowerPoint presentation highlighting the results of the investigation and presenting three to five recommendations for "greening" the business. All recommendations must be justified based on their environmental as well as their economic benefits.
  • A list of three to five things the student(s) learned from the experience.

For individuals or groups
Maximum of 2 entries per school
Maximum of 200 points per entry
