Option 2 — Photography

Natural Vantage Point

Use multiple photographs and text to create a composition that communicates your thoughts, feelings, and perspectives on the relationship between humans and nature.

Premise: The complex and ever-changing relationship between humans and nature has been communicated through the artwork of diverse cultures throughout history and around the world. Options 2 through 5 challenge you to think critically about your personal relationship to nature, and then use photography, poetry, music, and comedy, to communicate how your actions and the actions of your peers reflect how modern society relates to nature.

Guidelines:

  • Entries must include a combination of words and photographs, may be physically or digitally manipulated (i.e. collage, superimposition), and may be submitted in digital or hard copy format.
  • All photographs and text used in the composition must be original, by the student(s)
  • Words may be hand written or computer generated and may be incorporated into the image or submitted as a separate caption.
  • For group submissions, every member of the group must contribute to the final project.

All submissions must include:

  • A collage, mounted (or printed) on 11" x 14", 13" x 19", or 18" x 24" art quality paper. Entries of other dimensions must be submitted in an exhibit-ready form.
