Weeklong camps all summer with morning, afternoon, and all-day options from June to August. Children ages 2 to 15.

Campouts
May – October

Come and pitch your tents in our outdoor classroom for a low-stress camping experience — with flush toilets and running water! Enjoy nature games and activities, go for a night hike, and cook s'mores.

Bring a picnic dinner and spend an evening in the Garden! Children ages 4 to 10 and their families will explore different areas of the Garden and enjoy a variety of discovery-based activities. Each Nature Nights also includes a short tram ride, planting project, and s’mores around the camp fire. Nature Nights is held rain or shine.

Get close to nature and discover where food comes from with fun, free activities each weekend! Pollinate flowers, dissect seeds, see roots growing, compost with worms, create a rainbow for healthy eating, and more. Upcoming programs include: July 17 & 18: Wiggling Worms, July 31 & August 1: Super Seeds, August 7 & 8: Plant Parts, August 14 & 15: Farmers’ Market, August 21 & 22: Heirloom Tomato Weekend, and August 28 & 29: Rainbow Garden.

 

Close to the city, on Chicago's north shore, the Chicago Botanic Garden has a year-round calendar of family activities and entertainment, including free kids' concerts, drop-in activities, plant giveaways, weekend family classes, and outdoor family entertainment, while also offering children the chance to explore outdoors. The Chicago Botanic Garden is one of Chicago's premier attractions, where visitors walk, enjoy nature photography, and celebrate each season with outdoor and indoor activities for families and kids of all ages.
