Join staff from the Chicago Botanic Garden as they teach us about the interrelationships of organisms in Illinois woodlands and the special problems associated with woodland restorations. Discuss species adaptations, relationships of woodland organisms to each other and the physical environment, the impact of invasive species, and much more. We’ll take a tour to see how these topics relate to the Garden and will do some hands-on sampling. Click here to register.

Small Hands in the Garden: A Workshop for Early Intervention Providers

Join us for a fun-filled day open to anyone who works with infants and toddlers. This workshop will focus on the importance of introducing nature to our youngest explorers. Participating in hands-on learning "stations" will inspire you to incorporate nature into your daily routine. This class is designed for persons who work with infants to three-year-olds, and is adaptable for those who work with pre-K children.

An additional fee for graduate credit ($100 per credit through Aurora University and $144 per credit through National Louis University) will be collected on the first day of the workshop.

Why are deserts important? Why should we protect them? Explore the amazing adaptations of desert plants at the Garden's Greenhouses and desert animals at the Brookfield Zoo. Learn about the ecology and importance of deserts through hands-on activities that support interdisciplinary instruction.
