As administrative assistant at the Chicago Botanic Garden, Irene Lau provides support to the Director of Plant Collections. She coordinates purchase orders for the Chicago Botanic Garden’s extensive displays, maintains budget records, facilitates meetings and prepares lecture handouts and correspondence. Additionally, Irene handles special administrative projects such as coordinating the annual Collections Field Day and Midwest Plant Collecting Collaborative meetings; managing special events and activities; and helping to plan plant collecting trips for the Director.
Irene received a Certificate of Marketing Communications from Oakton Community College after earning a teaching degree and teaching at the Graham Teaching College in Hong Kong. She is close to completing an Associates degree in Applied Science from Oakton Community College.
