Dear President’s Circle Member,
As I write this letter, I am watching the rain and wind buffet the serviceberry bushes outside my office window and am reminded that there are many ways—indoors and out—to enjoy the Chicago Botanic Garden.
For me, one of many indoor Garden treasures is the Lenhardt Library. Located in the Regenstein Center, the Library is an inspiring place to read or study, and it provides a calm, restorative oasis. This winter, my family and I are planning for a spring kitchen garden renovation; the Library's outstanding magazine and book collection will be an invaluable resource.
Tomorrow, a library exhibition opens that I believe you won't want to miss. On loan from the Negaunee Foundation, Highgrove Florilegium features one of only 175 two-volume sets commissioned by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales. A free library talk this Sunday at 2 p.m. will review the traditions inspiring this art-filled form of botanical history.

tribute gift program
Consider dedicating a Lenhardt Library book for that special someone this holiday season! For a donation of $50 to $150 (starting at $500 for Rare Books), a personalized bookplate will be placed on the inside front cover of the title you select. It's a thoughtful holiday gift or tribute.
Please click on each of the photos above for information on these fun ways to enjoy the Garden.
Following unexpected delays, I am pleased to report that the project to restore the shoreline of the Garden's North Lake is scheduled to begin soon. This project, requiring the lake to be fenced and drained, means snowshoeing is on hiatus until late next year. Until then, enjoy many other cold-weather pleasures at the Garden. I hope to see you around the Garden soon.
With warm regards for a Happy Thanksgiving,
President & CEO
