Visitors can learn all about growing and using peppers at the All About Peppers Weekend, August 22 and 23, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Regenstein Fruit & Vegetable Garden. Pepper tours, shopping for pepper products from select vendors, and special chili pepper décor are all part of the fun. See loads of peppers growing throughout the garden, learn pepper facts and history, and stuff yourself with pepper-growing and pepper-cooking tips!

  • Take a pepper tour with Fruit & Vegetable Garden staff at 1 and 3 p.m.
  • Visit the Pepper Discovery Carts to explore the many types of peppers — hot and sweet — you can grow in your home garden.
  • See more than 40 pepper varieties growing at the Fruit & Vegetable Garden, including 'Big Bomb', 'Chichimecca', 'Cherry Bomb', and 'Habanero'.
  • Take part in activities especially for families and children: make pepper butter mix, play a game to learn where peppers and other vegetables come from, and discover how you can add peppers to a "rainbow" for healthy eating.
  • Sample peppers from mild to hot by sprinkling powdered peppers on popcorn.
  • Purchase a variety of pepper products from the following vendors: Green Youth Farm, Gemori Sauces and rubs, Sodexo Ice Cream, Spice Daddy, Here's to the Cook!, and Necessity Baking.
