Ikebana International 50th Anniversary Celebration

May 13–14, 2009

The motto of Ikebana International, "Friendship Through Flowers," reaches all corners of the world. In keeping with this mission, the organization will present a demonstration and workshops on the art of Japanese floral arrangement. To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Chicago Chapter, Ikebana International is bringing two Master Sensei of the Ohara School of Japanese Floral Arrangement from Japan to the Garden for a special two-day event. The Ohara School emphasizes seasonal arrangements incorporating the beauty of natural environments and also features landscape arrangement. Ikebana International is honored to bring Ikebana to the Chicago Botanic Garden with these events.
