Illinois Gourd Society Show Workshops

September 11-13, 2009

Sign up for a gourd workshop during the Illinois Gourd Society Show and come away with a colorful gourd shell maple leaf jewelry pin, or other leaf shapes that you will dye yourself. Create a fun gourd ornament using decorative painting techniques and tools. Learn to use a woodburner to both cut and burn a flower design for a beautiful bowl. Students will learn about gourd surface preparation and use basic painting skills with acrylics.

All materials are provided in these workshops, including the cleaned, cut leaf shapes, and plenty of gourd pieces for practice.*

*Students will need to bring their own woodburner for woodburning workshops.
