The larvae feed heavily on Rhus laurina, Sclerocarya caffra, Commiphota mollis, and Spirostachys africana, and are considered pests.

Interesting Fact: 

Adults have no functioning mouth parts and live on stored fat for their entire lives, which is only about 1 week.
