The subtitle for this book reads, “create 40 intimate gardens for the home, no matter what the season.” This is not an overstatement. Rosemary McCreary has, with her detailed instructions, shown the average amateur how to make wonderful, home-brightening indoor gardens. At the beginning of each type of garden, she lists exactly what is needed to get started, then discusses ongoing care needs. The beautiful photographs in Tabletop Gardens would encourage even an inept gardener to attempt one of the suggestions — a gravel garden, for example.
McCreary's book provides some imaginative ideas, as well as the basic care instructions to make tabletop gardens thrive. It is well laid out and explains clearly which plants are best for growing inside.
