A lover of herbs, the author provides neighborly advice in this handy guide on growing herbs in the home garden. Emphasizing the importance of selection of the proper site and soil for each herb, White goes on to the subjects of cultivation and harvesting of individual herbs. Some are annuals and must be removed at the end of the growing season and others are perennials. Given the proper care, these will return for future seasons. Should you use fertilizer on herbs? That’s another question she answers. The author moves on to the many uses of herbs, culinary, crafts, aromatherapy, bath and beauty, medicine, and “magic potions,” some of which have questionable merits.
