Another Sunset Book contribution to garden practices, this book examines in detail many aspects of watering plants. Quite a large section of this book is devoted to installing, maintaining and selecting the appropriate drip or sprinkler system. Watering flowers, vegetables, turf and woody plants is discussed in brief. Soaker hoses, overhead sprinklers and in-ground systems are reviewed. This is probably more information than the average gardener needs. I question the audience for this book. Very few gardeners have a garden that can get by with only one type of watering system, and yet few can afford the multiple systems that most gardens require. This is more of a reference book for professionals who might be advising clients.
