Fun Gardening is a great book, written for children 5 to 12 years old, but most suitable for older children. The author uses a few terms, such as secateurs for pruners, that might confuse a younger reader (and even some adults). Overall, this book is good introduction to gardening for youngsters with plenty of step-by-step pictures.

The introduction describes a great deal of basic gardening information, including how plants grow and guidelines for safety. This is a good book for families, school, and public libraries (especially those with garden plots), and even for Scout troops.
