A full-page photograph of asters and viburnum is appropriately entitled "Simply Stunning." With such wonderful pictures showing how truly magnificent some fall colors are, this might be considered a coffee table book, but it also offers the reader useful information and advice. Chapters list groups of plants such as climbers, seedheads, berries, annuals, and perennials. The authors address the issue of growing more than one of a specific plant, and add chapters on partners for fall, fall garden care, and handling cold-tender plants. The authors’ suggestions are very helpful and sensible, and they also offer useful pointers on how to shop for plants. There are plans for ten different gardens to show off fall colors. This is a marvelous book, well-designed, and full of information given with wit and wisdom.
