Designing with Bulbs is part of a series of four books; this title concentrates on the care and culture of bulbs. Illustrated beautifully, it is organized by season, with a listing of bulbs that can be grown at specific times of the year. Instructions are provided on planting and caring for specific bulbs. The author does a good job of listing numerous cultivars as well as alternative species, along with characteristics; at times, these details are overwhelming. Unless a reader is acquainted with some of the varieties mentioned, it's hard to see how a planting will take shape. Because of the horticultural detail, this book is really for professionals.
